Whitfield County

Tunnel Hill is named for the Western & Atlantic Railroad Tunnel which was cut through Chetoogeta Mountain and terminated at the site of the city. Dalton is known as the "Carpet Capital of the World." Some of the local festivals include the Prater's Mill Country Fair, Tunnel Hill Civil War Battlefield Reenactment, Celtic Festival in Tunnel Hill , and the CAG Fine Arts Festival.
